Mijn familie is grotendeels voor Benfica. Ikzelf had een beetje een moeizame relatie met m’n pa…ik schijn in het oude da Luz te zijn geweest met hem, maar daar heb ik geen actieve herinneringen meer aan 😊Later, ben ik met twee ooms ( 1ste generatie Juve Leo ) meegegaan naar Sporting : liefde op het eerste gezicht ! Het kon ook bijna niet anders in het oude Alvalade 🥲💚

On Wednesday, February 12, 1969, the illustrious Benfica with the great Eusébio came to town—Panini stickers coming to life in Amsterdam. In the freezing winter cold, the Portuguese ensemble emerged from their dressing room on the snow-cleared pitch like icicles. This would be Ajax's night to remember in front of 55,149 chilled spectators.
But for all the wrong reasons. Ajax started the match like wax statues, turning the Olympic Stadium into a hibernal panopticon, allegedly enchanted by the presence of Eusébio, Coluna, Simoes and Torres.
Benfica's Santos put the opposition ahead on the half-hour mark, and Torres doubled the score five minutes later with a textbook header. In sheer euphoria, Torres sprinted to the touchline, grabbed a snowball the size of a globe, and held it over his head, impersonating an icy sculpture of Atlas.
One minute after the tea break, substitute Inge Danielsson opened up the game, only for José Augusto to break Ajax's resistance and the hearts of the Dutch supporters in the 61st minute. Winter had never felt so cold in Amsterdam.
